Edmund Kirbi Smit (engl. Edmund Kirby Smith; Sent Ogastin, 16. maj 1824 — Sivani, 28. mart 1893) bio je general Konfederacije za vreme Američkog građanskog rata.[1]
Smit je postao oficir u vojsci SAD 1845. godine. Po izbijanju građanskog rata 1861. istupa iz vojske, a Florida je proglasila otcepljenje od Unije. U junu 1861. je imao čin brigadnog generala i u oktobru iste godine je unapređen u general-majora vojske Konfederacije. Istakao se za vreme Bragove invazije Kentakija (1862) i na Ričmond, gde je porazio generala severa Vilijama Nelsona (30. avgusta iste godine).[2] Od februara 1863. do kraja rata, Smit je komandovao snagama zapadno od Misisipija (Transmisisipi, područje pod ingerencijom konfederalnih država). Potpisao je predaju svojih trupa 26. maja 1865, a posle rata je bio direktor železničke kompanije i zatim univerzitetski profesor.
Bio je oženjen sa Kesi Selden (1836–1905), imali su jedanaestoro dece, pet sinova i šest kćeri.
Tokom Drugog svetskog rata jedan brod Američke mornarice je nazvan po njemu.[3]
