Rasprostranjenost slepih miševa u svetu |
Slepi miševi,[2] šišmiši, netopiri, ili ljiljci (Chiroptera, grč. χείρ - cheir = šaka + πτερόν - pteron = krilo) su red sisara koje karakteriše sposobnost aktivnog leta i eholokacije. Krila su im od kože koja je čvrsto razapeta između dugih prstiju njihovih šaka i zglobova. Šišmiši ne lepršaju čitavim prednjim udovima, kao što to čine ptice, već lepršaju širenjem prstiju, koji su vrlo dugi i prekriveni tankom kožnom opnom zvanom patagium. Slepi miševi obično love noću, a odmaraju se tokom dana, viseći naglavačke u pećinama, šupljem drveću, ili zgradama. Neke vrste slepih miševa žive same, a neke u grupama od po hiljadu i više jedinki. Mnoge ženke slepih miševa skupljaju se u „obdaništima“ — kolonijama u kojima ostavljaju svoje mladunce da se zajedno greju jedni do drugih dok one odlaze u lov.
Postoji oko 1.100 vrsta slepih miševa na svetu, što čini petinu ukupnog broja klasifikovanih vrsta sisara.[3] Slepi miševi su po brojnosti vrsta drugi u redu sisara (nakon glodara), jer čine oko 20% svih klasificiranih vrsta sisara u svetu, sa oko 1.240 vrsta šišmiša podeljenih u dva podreda:
- megašišmiši (Megachiroptera) − manje specijalizirani i uglavnom voćojedi, veliki šišmiši ili leteće lisice i
- mikrošišmiši (Microchiroptera) − visoko specijalizirani i eholocirajući mali šišmiši.
Oko 70% vrsta šišmiša su insektivori, dok su većina ostalih frugivori, tj. jedu voće. Nekoliko vrsta, kao što su oni koji jedu ribe (Myotis vives) i hrane se životinjama (izuzev insektima), dok su vampirski šišmiši hematofagi, tj. hrane se krvlju.
Šišmiši su prisutni u većem delu sveta i obavljaju vitalne ekološke uloge oprašivanja cvetova i raspršivanje voćnog semena. Mnoge tropske biljne vrste u potpunosti zavise od šišmiša za raspršivanje svojih semena. Šišmiši su i ekonomski važni, jer uništavaju insekte, smanjujući tako potrebu za upotrebom pesticida. Najmanji šišmiš je dužine 29 – 34 mm, sa rasponom krila od 15 cm i težinom 2 - 2,6 grama. Takođe je nedvojbeno najmanja postojeća vrsta sisara sa etrurskom goropadnicom, koja je drugi kandidat.[4]
Opis
[uredi | uredi izvor]Šišmiši su jedini leteći sisari, a uz ptice i jedini aktivno leteći kičmenjaci. Neke grupe sisara, kao što su leteća veverica, bodljorepa veverica i leteći kalong, npr. imaju letne kožice između udova, ali mogu samo kliziti s višeg položaja prema dole. Nasuprot tome, šišmiši mogu uzleteti i uvis.
Letna kožica sadrži dva sloja kože, a proteže se od korijena šake do ramena i između nogu. Taj deo se naziva uropatagium, koji uključuje i rep (ako postoji), a obično služi za obuhvatanje plena. Palac je kratak, a nema ga samo u porodici Furipteridae i završava s kandžom, dok su preostala četiri prsta jako produžena i napinju letnu kožicu. Velešišmiši pretežno imaju kandžu i na drugom prstu, a većina sitnošišmiša je nema. Trn na peti služi za zatezanje repne letne kožice. Za razliku od većine drugih sisara, zadnje noge šišmiša su okrenute unazad i završavaju s pet prstiju, na kojima su kandže. Gusto, svilenkasto krzno im je obično sivo do smeđe boje, iako postoje njihove i bele i šarene vrste.
Veličina ovih životinja je dosta promenljiva, te se po vrstama jako razlikuje. Tako je svinjoliki šišmiš dug samo oko 3 cm i težak oko 2 grama uz etrurskog malog miša (zvanog i etrurska goropadnica) smatra najmanjim sisarom, dok velešišmiš kalong može imati raspon krila i do 1,7 m i doseći težinu od 1,5 kg.
Ponašanje
[uredi | uredi izvor]Većina šišmiša (osim nekih vrsta velikih šišmiša) su noćne životinje, koje dan prespavaju u nekom od raspoloživih skrovišta. Pri tome vise naglavačke, tj. s glavom prema dole, što im u slučaju opasnosti omogućava beg padom, jednostavnim otpuštanjem kandžica. Za držanje za podlogu im nije potrebna snaga, jer njegova težina tela u visećem položaju automatski skuplja kandže oko podloge. Zato ni uginule životinje ne padaju s hvatišta. Za orijentaciju kao i za utvđivanje položaja lovine tokom noćnih letova, šišmiši imaju vrlo dobro razvijenu sposobnost korištenja ultrazvuka, odnosno svojih eholokatora. Kroz usta i/ili nos rasprostiru ultrazvukove van područja čujnosti za ljudsko uho. Neke vrste (porodica Megadermatidae i Phyllostomidae) za pojačavanje zvuka imaju upadljive izrasline na nosevima, koje podsećaju na kakve listiće. Uši su im dobro razvijene i često s velikim ušnim školjkama, što omogućava bolje hvatanje ehoa ispuštenih ultrazvukova. Megašišmiši, osim rozetnih, nemaju eholokacijski sistem. Većina ih ima osobito dobro razvijeno čulo mirisa.
Tokom dana, šišmiši spavaju u najrazličitijim skloništima, a najčešće na drveću. Stvaraju kolonije koje mogu imati i više hiljada jedinki, ali postoje i vrste koje su samotnjaci. U hladnijim područjima, zimu provode u zimskom snu ili sele u toplija područja. Za vrijeme dnevnog spavanja, metabolizam im se usporava više nego kod svih ostalih sisara.
Ishrana
[uredi | uredi izvor]Zavisno od vrste, šišmiši jedu različitu hranu. Prema ishrani se svrstavaju u nekoliko grupa, koje nisu u vezi sa njihovom biosistematikom. Izvori hrane:
- Insekti: većina vrsta su insektivori. U tu grupu spada većina evropskih vrsta.
- Voće: u ovu grupu koja se pretežno hrani voćem spada većina mmegašišmiša. Međutim, neki sitni šišmiši Stenodermatinae se označavaju kao „voćni vampiri”, a žive na američkom kontinentu. Predstavnici ove grupe žive samo u tropskim i suptropskim područjima, gde tokom cele godine ima dovoljno voća.
- Cvetovi i nektar: ovom hranom se pretežno hrane velešišmiši (Macroglossini) kao i neki sitni šišmiši (Glossophaginae). Vrste koje se ovako hrane imaju male jedinke, koje imaju duge njuške i jezike, a imaju važnu ulogu u oprašivanju biljki.
- Kičmenjaci: neke vrste se hrane pticama, žabama, gušterima i malim sisarma, uključujući glodare i druge šišmiše. To su pretežno razne vrste iz porodica kopljonosih šišmiša (Phyllostominae) i velikokrilaca (Megadermatidae). Neke vrste porodice Noctilionidae su se specijalizovale za lov riba. Sve su iz podreda sitnošišmiša.
- Krv: prehranu krvlju imaju samo tri vrste vampirskih šišmiša: Desmodontinae, Phyllostomidae i Vespertilionidae.[5][6][7][8][9][10]
Razmnožavanje
[uredi | uredi izvor]Opšte obeležje biologije šišmiša je niska stopa razmnožavanja. Ženka se najčešće okoti samo jednom godišnje, donoseći na svet samo po jedno mladunče. Većina vrsta šišmiša ima po dve sise, po čemu su ih ranije (među ostalima i Karl fon Line) svrstavali u primate. Kao nadoknada za tako sporo razmnožavanje, šišmiši su u poređenju s drugim sisarima slične veličine, relativno dugovečni. Neke jedinke požive i duže od 20, a ponekad i do 30 godina.
Ugroženost
[uredi | uredi izvor]Mnoge vrste šišmiša su registrovane kao ugrožene, najčešće zbog uništavanja staništa krčenjem šuma u tropima, ali i u industrijski razvijenim zemljama, zbog prekomerne upotrebe pesticida i zaštitnih sredstava u poljoprivrednoj proizvodnji. Prema IUCN (International Union for Conservation of Nature and Natural Resources ili skraćeno World Conservation Union), 12 vrsta je već izumrlo, dok je još 75 vrsta vrlo ugroženo.
Klasifikacija
[uredi | uredi izvor]Izdvajaju se dve glavne grupe.
Prvu grupu (Megachiroptera) čine leteće lisice. Ovi slepi miševi imaju glavu nalik na lisice i hrane se uglavnom biljnom materijom, odnosno voćem, cvećem, nektarom i polenom. U potrazi za hranom koriste svoje krupne oči i oštro čulo mirisa.
Pripadnici druge grupe (Microchiroptera) slepih miševa uglavnom su mesojedi koji se hrane insektima, sitnim sisarima, žabama, pticama, pa čak i ribama. Ovi slepi miševi najčešće love noću, koristeći se eholokacijom za određivanje mesta na kojem se nalazi njihov plen. Kroz nos ili usta oni proizvode visoke tonove, a potom koriste svoje velike uši da uhvate njihov odjek. Na osnovu toga oni stvaraju sliku o okolini i zatim se velikom brzinom upućuju prema insektima u letu, često i po mrklom mraku.
