Etelstan Sjajni poznat kao i Etelstan Slavni (staroengleski: Æþelstan, Æðelstān, eng.Athelstan, Æthelstan, 883/895 – 27. oktobar 939) je bio engleski kralj.[3]
Na prestolu je, zajedno sa bratom Elfeardom, nasledio oca Edvarda Starijeg 924. Kraljevstvo je podeljeno tako da je Etelstan vladao Meršom, a Elfeard Veseksom. Pošto je Elfeard ubrzo umro Etelstan je preuzeo vlast i nad Veseksom i tako postao vladar cele Engleske. Osvojio je Jork 927, napao Škotsku 934, a 937. je u bici kod Brunanburha porazio udruženu vojsku Škota, Brita i Vikinga iz Irske.
Sebe je smatrao kraljem, čak i nadkraljem cele Britanije. Jedan je od sedmorice engleskih kraljeva krunisanih na krunidbenom kamenu u Kingstonu. Umro je u Glosteru 27. oktobra 939, a nasledio ga je polubrat Edmund Veličanstveni.
