Čang Kaj Šek (kin: 蔣介石; Fenghua, 31. oktobar 1887 — Tajpej, 5. april 1975)[4] bio je kineski vojni i politički vođa koji je preuzeo vođstvo nad Kuomintangom (KMT) nakon smrti Suena Jatsena 1925. godine. Predvodio je vladu Republike Kine od 1928. do 1975. Komandovao je Severnom ekspedicijom protiv gospodara za ujedinjenje Kine, i pobedio je 1928. postavši vođa cele Republike Kine. Čang Kaj Šek je vodio Kinu u Drugom kinesko-japanskom ratu, tokom koga mu je snaga u Kini oslabila, ali mu je porastao ugled u svetu. Tokom Kineskog građanskog rata (1927—1950), je pokušao da uništi Komunističku partiju Kine, ali je na kraju poražen, i njegova vlada je morala da se povuče na Tajvan, gde je nastavio da obavlja funkciju predsednika Republike Kine i generalnog direktora KMT do kraja života.
